It's that time of year again when the sweet sounds of that little four stringed instrument, affectionately known as the fiddle, analogously fills the Miami Beach air.
Yep, it's the 32nd Annual Everglades Bluegrass Festival at Haulover Beach. Another glorious weekend of capturing that wonderful analogous sight and sound and turning it into everything imaginable, digital media. Not to mention the real reason for being there, FUN!
It has been an honor to provide my services over the past two years as The South Florida Bluegrass Association's webmaster, the longest continuously operated organization of it's kind in North America.

Digital Media
This will be my only post to the nature of this subject.
I consider being able to see the views of the younger generation as a great experience, for you are the future leaders of this country and the world. The powers vested upon you through this medium are enormous.
Digital – Originates from the Latin word “digitus” meaning finger.
Media – In the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts, Medea was for a time Jason's wife. Due to various misdeeds and intrigues, Medea flees Athens and is forced to settle in a nether region, beyond Persia. The kingdom she established there in exile, Media, is named for her son, Medes. It was a middle kingdom between the Hellenic, Egyptian, and Babylonian world and the ancient cultures to the east. It was a region of transit and exchange between them. (http://www.cvc.sunysb.edu/334/whatismultimedia/medea.htm)
Media, like data, is the plural form of a word borrowed directly from Latin. The singular, Medium, early developed the meaning “an intervening agency, means, or instrument” and was first applied to newspapers two centuries ago. In the 1920s Media began to appear as a singular collective noun, sometimes with the plural Medias. This singular use is now common in the fields of mass communication and advertising, but it is not frequently found outside them: The media is (or are) not anti- business.
Well, well sounds a lot like pointing the finger. It’s interesting to note that the definition of media closes stating media is not anti-business. I totally disagree. Media is everywhere, good, bad, and indifferent.
I quit watching TV after 9/11 because I had become weary and leery of the forced fed news casts.
I got my first computer in 2006 because I came to realize that this is the greatest social equalizer that man has ever known but there are factions that are trying to control it. Do you know who has owned and controlled the media in America and world-wide? Do you know who owns and controls IP addresses?
The underlying problems that this country faces are not new and an open minded, unbiased study of what has happened throughout the history and what really is and exits in this country is startling. These problems have been going on for centuries. History continually repeats itself as evidenced in the Bible. I only know the Bible (which is Jewish history) because that is what I learned as I grew up in this country. This country was founded on beliefs of the Bible and throughout government buildings and institutions in this great nation one will see mention of the Bible. You know that the Jewish people, at one time, were slaves in Egypt. If you get into the real story of America, who the real movers and shakers were, and are now, you may be surprised to find some unbelievable truths about the United States Government. There are many different views of how to fix social dilemmas by many different factions and most of them are motivated by the pursuit of money and power and one of the great benefactors of the elite is to keep the masses confused as evidenced by this incredible story of Nazi occupation of Austria.
If you Google this woman you will find a lot of negative press from present political factions, but if you pursue with an open minded, unbiased study you will discover that this woman is a true freedom fighter from earlier days before the internet. But this is the true nature of media, agghhmm, power.

Functional Graphic Design (podcast)
Yea!! I just finished my algebra class. It was a lot of hard work and the reason you all haven't heard from me. I have posted a brief reflective podcast about some things I found a little humorous with students and their battles with algebra. Oh, and it's about graphic design and multimedia too!
